ONE PLUS 9 RT 5G
LAUNCHED IN INDIA ON 14TH JAN 2022
My first meeting with OnePlus was in complete darkness, buying the OnePlus One in pre-order (and with an invite system, which was very difficult to find).
It was 2014 and I bought my first OnePlus, it has been almost 7 years now and the company has churned out a lot of smartphones.
Perhaps OnePlus no longer has the appeal it once did (the first OnePlus, with top-of-the-range hardware, only cost RS 20,000), but one thing is certain: I still love these devices,
especially the design. By. Today it is the turn of the OnePlus 9RT 5G, which is a top-class smartphone with a competitive price tag and fortunately, is officially arrived in INDIA.

DESIGN & CONTENT
The OnePlus 9RT represents another piece that adds to the great work OnePlus has done in recent years; Sure, these claims may sound fanboy, but you have to be honest.
The OnePlus 9RT looks a lot like the 9, the aesthetic appearance is almost identical and it is clear that OnePlus tries to give continuity to the devices it has made.
It weighs just under 200 grams, and its dimensions of 16.2 x 7.5 x 0.8 cm allow us to hold it easily with one hand; However, it must be said that the back cover is the part that I found most attractive.
It does not make the smartphone a bit slippery which, in my opinion, would be nice to use with the cover included in the package.
The side frame is in aluminum and the colors that join the back cover, which I almost define as "enamel," creates a combination of elegance that, to be honest, few are able to show. Among other things.
The rear partly thanks to a good oleophobic treatment and partly thanks to the "smart" paint practically does not hold fingerprints of any kind, even if you wish.
Underneath the display, OnePlus has inserted a biometric reader to unlock the device; It works well, it's accurate and I really liked it for Face Unlock, which is also present.
The arrangement of the keys and ports, on the other hand, is the same as all other models in the 9 series with which this RT shares almost the same design: the volume rocker on the left,
the power key on the right and the slider button for silent, While at the bottom is the SIM slot (which supports two!), USB-C input, and speaker.
DISPLAY
The display is a 6.62-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED with FullHD+ 1080×2400 pixel resolution, with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, 397ppi, a touch sampling rate of up to 300Hz, and support for HDR10+.
The screen supports the sRGB color profile and has 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut; The edges are also very thin even though on the bottom maybe OnePlus could have done better.
That said, the panel quality here is high, but I didn't really love it; Well, the color range is good, the calibration is not too far behind, the brightness could have been a bit better,
the fact that the company has taken a step back here as compared to the OnePlus 9R.
Yes, because the panel here isn't fluid AMOLED and the colors are a little less bright: mind you, unless you've actually tried more than a few smartphones, you won't notice the difference, even if you try hard. However,
in the settings there are the usual options for adjusting colors between three predefined presets (Vivid, Natural, and Pro modes) and adjusting the fluidity of the screen, which may not be really dynamic, but only between 60 and 120Hz is an option.
HARDWARE & PERFORMANCE
Technical equipment, price to know, which you don't expect: OnePlus 9 RT has a Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor under the body (1 × 2.84 GHz Kryo 680 + 3 × 2.42 GHz Kryo 680 + 4 × 1.80 GHz Kryo 680), 8 or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM memory, 128/256GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage, and an Adreno 660 GPU.
Through software, it is possible to increase the (virtual) RAM memory by a further 5GB; This is all to let you know that the performances are top-notch and, in my opinion, with OxygenOS they could have been a bit higher, as ColorOS is here.
Except for this point, which we'll dig into shortly, the new OnePlus 9RT has progressed compared to the predecessor OnePlus 9 on the dissipation profile; The dissipation area is larger than 59% and is made of 5 different materials, including graphite, carbon copper and silica gel, to optimize the cooling speed even further.
It goes without saying how high the scores are in the benchmark, probably one of the highest in the Android landscape. The factor to keep in mind is the high-performance option: In the benchmarks performed I have used the standard profile with which OnePlus guarantees reliability and performance out of the box,
But still, the results can be improved by activating the high-performance mode in the settings. There is a 20% increase in evaluation in benchmarks (an example is Geekbench that in normal mode, single-core scores 878 points, while in high performance it gets 1123 points) at least in single-core.
For gaming, though, the latest titles don't put the OnePlus 9 RT in any difficulty which struggles smoothly in all scenarios; Call of Duty, Fortnite, and others are all done at maximum detail, with a stable framerate of around 60fps and a light load on the hardware, which we can monitor via Game Space with a simple swipe from the left.
activates with. And lets us optimize certain functions as well as monitor the parameters of the smartphone.
Also, thanks to the touch's high sampling rate, which can reach up to 600Hz in gaming, playing on the OnePlus 9RT is indeed a pleasure.
CAMERA
The main photosensor of the OnePlus 9RT is the Sony IMX766 from 50MP f/1.8 with optical image stabilization and PDAF focus, the wide-angle ranges from 16MP f/2.2 with a viewing angle of up to 123° and, finally, turns off the I. Surround the 2MP f/2.4 macro camera, which is probably the only sore point in all this high-profile photographic territory.
By now you know, if you've followed us for a while, that I use an iPhone 13 Pro Max as my main smartphone (and in recent months a 12 Pro Max), on a photographic level. But I'm quite demanding (even if more so than someone would say the iPhone isn't the best solution... I know!), especially in point-and-shoots.
THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN BY THE ONEPLUS 9RT
Well, this OnePlus 9RT has questioned my beliefs a bit, as the shots I took during these testing days forced me to pull out my iPhone and compare, especially because there is a difference between these two smartphones at the price level. Has ditched.
I'll start with the main camera, which always manages to produce excellent results, even in very bright and poorly lit environments. HDR activates easily and I don't mind it, even though sometimes its appearance is too aggressive and I'm forced to repeat the shot and deactivate it manually.
Night mode is the thing that impressed me the most: in a matter of seconds, OnePlus processes a shot that has all the credentials to actually play a game with a much more expensive range.
Even the wide-angle camera, overall, takes more than good shots; In this case, I preferred it more during the day where photos are well defined and full of details, while the quality drops a bit in low light. In addition, the wide-angle camera has a few more difficulties in handling the lights at night (especially the hot ones), so sometimes it can be "messy" in some ways.
PHOTO TAKEN BY ONEPLUS 9RT
The 16MP f/2.4 selfie camera without profanity and praise take home which is more than enough; Good shots are taken outdoors with a lot of light when you're in places with artificial light or closed at night, where noise and definition drop very quickly.
The macro camera is the only one in line with many other devices on the market, it isn't particularly excellent and requires at least 4cm for acceptable focus. The quality of the photos taken is not very high, and as already mentioned in other reviews, I really consider it a bit crazy the tendency of all manufacturers to include this camera, without clear ideas about it.
Lastly, videos are also recorded in 4K at 60FPS which is a slightly more limited mode, in the sense that you won't be able to switch between different cameras while recording, which you can do when you record, instead, 4K in 30fps or in FullHD.
SOFTWARE
Well, if there's one aspect that I really like, it's Color OS. It is packed with features, very aesthetically beautiful, and so on, but it is, in fact, not a suitable device for everyone.
After specifying this aspect, the Color OS 12 present here is based on Android 11, it shares many similarities with HydrogenOS (i.e. the equivalent of OxygenOS) such as the launcher, icons, and some system logic.
The smartphone is perfectly usable, even though the "stable" OxygenOS optimization made this OnePlus 9RT 100% "complete" without any ifs and buts. It must be said that starting in 2022 with the new OnePlus series, the two operating systems will "merge" leaving only room for ColorOS, which will certainly make for big improvements, especially considering the global launch on all OnePlus smartphones.
BATTERY
The battery of the OnePlus 9RT is a 4500 mAh unit, overall it can be defined as sufficient in daily use, but if you use the smartphone in high-performance mode, where the energy consumption is very high, then it is insufficient. Is.
In any case, we are faced with a Snapdragon 888 which undoubtedly requires energy; Although one day of use is undoubtedly covered without problems.
The part that interests you the most, I'm sure, is recharge time; On this model, OnePlus has made 65W fast charge compatible which allows you to recharge your smartphone from 0 to 100% in just 28 minutes, a value that can last for days in case of sudden battery drain due to stressful use. Makes it easy to recharge during smart Fone.
VALUES & CONSIDERATION
The factor most influencing my opinion on this Oneplus is precisely the price: this smartphone requires approx 42k something to take home, which is really cool compared to other top-class on the market costs in. Well below 30-40% standards, and has really great properties.
What I liked the most, without a doubt, is the camera as well as the design of the smartphone, albeit not "original" and already seen on other products of the company. Definitely promoted! But be forewarned, that currently, it is not a "for all" smartphone.
